As a team captain or co-captain, you organize a group to become a team of hikers, attend a series of captain's meetings
to obtain updated information on the Camp Out, and communicate that information to your team members.
A team can consist of family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, etc.
There is no specific number of people needed for a
team, as long as you can have at least one person walking at all times. You and your teammates can be as
creative as you like with a team theme, costumes, campsite decorations, and even a mascot!
You can set a team goal and plan team fundraisers (car wash, bake sale, bingo, etc.).
Illumination candle orders can also go toward team fundraising.
The next team captain's meeting is Tuesday August 16 at 5:30pm in the supervisor's chambers at the county building in Jackson.
